Pastor Jason & Nicole Rollin

Pastors Jason and Nicole are the founders and Lead Pastors of City Light Church. They met at North Central University bible college, and both graduated with pastoral degrees. Jason and Nicole served as youth pastors in the Metro Detroit area for 12 years before starting City Light Church in 2015. Their lifelong mission is to see people from all ages find hope, life and answers in Jesus Christ. Pastor Jason is a passionate and humorous speaker with a desire to communicate God’s word so that every one is encouraged and challenged to take a next step in their relationship with Christ.
When not leading the church, Jason loves to play golf and cheer on the Detroit Lions. Pastor Nicole helps with graphics & design, and leads our Women's Ministry events. Nicole runs a photography business, too, and loves coffee! Jason & Nicole have been married for 23 years and have two amazing children, Christian and Eliana.

Pastor Dave graduated from Rochester University with his pastoral degree and served as a youth pastor in the Metro Detroit area for 10 years. Pastor Dave leads our Family Ministries which include students and kids. Dave and his wife, Elise, have two young & active boys - they love bike rides and finding the next new ice cream shop!

Matty has served in youth ministry since the 1900s (1994 to be exact)! Whether being a youth pastor, planning an event, or building a resource - Matty’s focus is about building the Kingdom.

Arin has been singing and leading worship for many years.  She has a huge passion to see people experience God through worship.  Arin and her husband Scott, have three awesome kids - Anna, Caleb, and Nathaniel.

Kristin is the "glue" at City Light Church. She makes sure everything runs smoothly and according to vision. Her husband, Jason, is always out in the parking lot ready to greet you, show you around, and introduce you to others. They have two amazing kids, Caden and Kinsey.

Cheryl has been attending City Light since 2016!  She has a huge passion to see people know Jesus and find freedom from their yesterdays. Cheryl loves to organize and keep things running smoothly at City Light.  Cheryl and her husband Tony have two kids, Kylie and Kash.

Mike has a huge heart for the local church and to see it succeed. Mike graduated with a BA in Biblical Studies from Liberty University.  Mike and his wife Denise have been married for 16 years and have four wonderful kids.

Ken Genaw

Executive Director
Ken and his wife Leslie have been attending City Light since 2016.  Ken helps provides strategic leadership and operational oversight to ensure the church’s vision and mission are effectively carried out across all ministries and staff. This role manages day-to-day operations, aligns teams, and implements systems that support healthy growth, stewardship, and organizational excellence.

What We Believe

The  Holy Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God.  The Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God.  It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths.  We accept the Scriptures as the final authority in all manners of faith and conduct.  (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26)

Trinity

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Although each member of the Trinity serves different functions, they each possess equal power and authority.

The Father

We believe God the Father, the first person in the Trinity, is all powerful, all knowing, ever-present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, Holy. It is in Him that we live, move and exist. God is good. He is our Father. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises.

The Son

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified on Calvary for our sins, and bodily rose from the dead; and that He has been exalted to the throne of God where He is the only mediator between God and man.  He alone is Lord and Savior.  We believe that through this death, burial, and resurrection we have personal salvation and power for victorious living.  (Colossians 1:15-18; 1 Timothy 3:16; John 1:1,14,14:6;20:28; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-6; 1 Timothy 2:5; Acts 4:12; Revelation 1:8)

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit’s presence assures us of our relationship with Christ. He guides believers into all truth and exalts Christ. He convicts people of their sin, God’s righteousness, and the coming judgment. He comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and makes us more like Christ. (Genesis 1:2; Psalm 51:11, 139:7; Isaiah 61:1-3; Joel 2:28-32; Mark 1:10; Luke 1:35, 4:1, 11:13, 12:12; John 15:26, 16:7-14; Acts 1:8, 2:1-4, 13:2; Romans 8:9-11, 14-16, 26-27; 1 Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 1:13-14; 2 Peter 1:21; Revelation 22:17)

The Church

We believe the church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus’ great commission.  Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers.  There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.  (Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23)

Water Baptism

We believe that following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, new believers are commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in water.  Water baptism is an act of obedience which signifies our union with Jesus in death to sin, burial of the old nature, and resurrection to new life. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38, 8:12,16:36-38, 10:48, 16:33, 19:5, 22:16; Mark 16:16; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12)

Marriage

We believe God created marriage to be between one man and one woman, as a sacred covenant.
(Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:22-33)

Salvation

We believe that all have sinned and stand in the need of redemption, which is received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, His death, burial, and resurrection.  Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or any human efforts.  (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:11-13, 3:1-9, 15-18; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22; Romans 3:21-24)

Our Story

City Light Church is a non-denominational church in the Rochester Hills/Auburn Hills area. We are passionate about helping everyone discover next steps in their relationship with God. We launched City Light in 2015 and have seen over 1,000 people make a commitment to Jesus Christ! We are currently a portable church that meets inside of Oakland Christian School as we pray for our future building. Whether you live in Rochester Hills, Auburn Hills, Troy, or anywhere in Oakland County, City Light Church offers a warm, welcoming community where you can grow in faith.
